About Sleep Research Unit Edinburgh University
Colleagues at the Department of Sleep Medicine at the University of Edinburgh research, study, diagnose and treat a variety of sleep disorders. The Department of Sleep Medicine is the most highly cited centre in the world for sleep apnoea / hypopnoea syndrome. Around 2,500 new patients a year attend the Clinic, which has a seven-bed facility in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for recording polysomnography (brain waves, oxygen levels, heart rate and breathing, as well as eye and leg movements).
