Introduction

Since the emergence of the novel coronavirus—SARS-CoV-2—in Wuhan by the end of 2019, it has spread to more than 200 countries worldwide. The disease caused by the virus is called COVID-19. The current COVID-19 outbreak was declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on 30 January 2020 and a pandemic on 11 March 2020 by WHO. The epigroup has always been devoted to research on emerging infectious diseases. To tackle with the current situation of COVID-19, our group has performed epidemiological and modelling analysis for regions including Scotland, the UK and WHO Africa Region.
